Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, to be observed on Tuesday – the first time without any Covid-19 restrictions after two years.
In a video message on the eve of the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, the premier said: “Eid-ul-Fitr means happiness and joy. Let us share the joy and happiness of Eid-ul-Fitr among us all."
She urged all to devote themselves to the welfare of the country and its people from their respective positions imbued with the glory of Eid.
"Be well and be safe, Eid Mubarak," Sheikh Hasina said.

Eid will be celebrated in the country on Tuesday as the moon of the Shawwal month of 1443 Hijri was not sighted on Sunday, Islamic Foundation Assistant Public Relations Officer Shayla Sharmin said after the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan presided over the meeting at Baitul Mokarram National Mosque in the evening.
Meanwhile, the people of some villages in Chandpur and Patuakhali districts observed Eid on Sunday while the Muslims of 13 villages in Faridpur will celebrate Eid on Monday.
Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will celebrate Eid on Monday as well.
