The government has appointed Professor Meerjady Sabrina Flora as the additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In an official notification on Thursday, the health ministry’s Health Services Division said that the appointment will be effective from August 20.
She has been serving as the director of the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) since 2016.

An epidemiologist and public health expert, Flora is a fellow of the Foundation for the Advancement of International Medical Education and Research.
She will be replacing Dr Sanya Tahmina Jhora, who is set to retire on August 18, according to health ministry officials.
