Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, who is the chief coordinator of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee, will enjoy the status of principal secretary.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday.
Dr Chowdhury was appointed as the chief coordinator of the implementation committee on contractual basis on February 14, 2019 and is entitled to get salary and other benefits of the principal secretary since his appointment, the gazette said.
Chowdhury, a 1982 BCS recruit, had helmed ministries of information and education before becoming the senior secretary of the public administration ministry.
He holds a PhD in Anthropology but is more known for his literary works, authoring a good number of books.
