The government is considering providing primary school students with uniforms and stationery in addition to textbooks.
Sources said that the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education might undertake this step in a bid to prevent students from dropping out of school.
If the project is finalised, in 2020, the students will receive uniforms and other necessities for free.
Primary and Mass Education Additional Secretary Md Gias Uddin Ahmed said: “A draft for a project has been prepared where the students will be provided with all the necessities—including copies, pens, and shoes—so that primary students do not drop out.
