The government has appointed Principal Information Officer Kamrun Nahar as secretary of the Women and Children Affairs Ministry.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday, reports UNB.
In February 2017, Kamrun Nahar had joined the Press Information Department (PID) as its first female principal information officer (PIO).
Previously, an officer of the BCS 1984 regular batch, Kamrun Nahar served as the director general (DG) of the Directorate of Mass Communication, Department of Films and Publications and Bangladesh Film Archive.
She has also served as the vice-chairperson of Bangladesh Film Censor Board.
