The government has yet to make a decision on the four technocrat ministers, who submitted their resignation letters on the prime minister’s directive earlier this month.
Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam revealed the matter to reporters on Monday, reports Bangla Tribune.
Speaking at a press briefing after the regular Cabinet meeting on Monday, the Cabinet secretary said: “No decision have been made regarding the technocrat ministers.”
The Cabinet secretary further said all four ministers were present at the meeting.
The four ministers – Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Minister Nurul Islam, Religious Affairs Minister Matior Rahman, Science and Technology Minister Yeafesh Osman, and Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar – submitted their resignation on November 6, only hours after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked them to.
The resignation of four technocrat ministers will come into effect once they have been accepted by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said on November 13.
