The 23rd, also the last, session of the current 10th parliament will begin at 4:30pm on Sunday, October 21.
President Md Abdul Hamid convened the session exercising his power bestowed upon him by the Article 72 (1) of the constitution, reports BSS.
This last session will be very short, but the proceedings and tenure of the session will be decided at the parliamentary advisory committee meeting that day.
Committee chief Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will preside the meeting.
The 22nd session of the parliament concluded on September 20. A total of 18 bills were passed in that session.
The 11th general election will be held either at the end of December or at the beginning of January.
The Election Commission on Thursday also said that the schedule for the national polls will be announced in the first week of November.
