US Secretary of State John Kerry has appreciated the role of law enforcement agencies of Bangladesh for their role in combating terrorism.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali informed this to the cabinet at its regular meeting on Monday.
Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan briefed the reporters after the meeting at the secretariat in the afternoon.
He said: "John Kerry praised the role of law enforcement agencies during a meeting with Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali at the US State Department on February 19."
The foreign minister visited Washington DC from February 16 to 19 to attend the two-day “White House Countering Violent Extremism Summit.”
