Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar will soon visit Bangladesh as part of his official tour to SAARC countries.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed as much to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during a phone conversation on Friday, BSS reported.
Jaishankar took charge as Indian foreign secretary on January 30, replacing Sujatha Singh, whose tenure was abruptly "curtailed" on January 28, a move which evoked a sharp reaction from the Congress.
During the conversation with Sheikh Hasina, Narendra Modi emphasises the speedy implementation of the SAARC Declaration of the last SAARC Summit held in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu.
The Indian premier also said that he would visit Dhaka very soon with good news, PM's Private Secretary Abdul Malek said.
Narendra Modi also greeted Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of the ICC World Cup Cricket 2015 being held in Australia and New Zealand.
