Pakistan Jamaat questions its govt's silence over Nizami verdict

Update : 29 Oct 2014, 10:18 PM

Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has condemned the verdict and questioned Pakistan government’s silence about the death sentence for Bangladesh Jamaat Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami.

In a statement published on Pakistan Jamaat’s website, its Ameer Sirajul Haq said it was most unfortunate that the Pakistan government was maintaining a “criminal silence” over the convictions of “patriotic Pakistanis who had sided with the Pak Army.”

“The decision of a fake court was the height of tyranny and death sentence had been given to a totally innocent person. He said that such measures could not prolong the rule of BD Premier Haseena Wajid [sic],” the website read.

Sirajul also claimed that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had agreed to not have any war crimes trials.
