US Senate to discuss Bangladesh Feb 11

The US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations is set to hold a hearing on the current political situation of Bangladesh on February 11.

The hearing,which is to begin at Senate Dirksen 419 around 10am (Washington DC time) on Tuesday,will be presided over by Senator Robert Menendez.

According to the US Senate Committee website, two panels will take part in the hearing on the current political situation Bangladesh.

In panel one, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Desai Biswal and Acting Associate Deputy Undersecretary for International Affairs, Bureau of International Labour Affairs Eric Biel will present their arguments.

On the other hand, Chairman of the Board of Directors Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety Ellen Tauscher and Executive Director Bangladesh Centre for Worker Solidarity Kalpona Akter will give their testimonies under panel two.
