Twenty nine Bangladeshis yesterday returned home from Iran with the help of Bangladesh embassy in Tehran, a police official at Hazrat Shajalal International Airport said.

A flight of Qatar Airline carrying the 29 Bangladeshis landed at the Shahjalal International Airport around 10:20am, Special Police Super for Immigration Nafiul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune.

Six of them reportedly killed a fellow Bangladeshis – Jewl Molla of Shariatpur – on December 14 in Iran, the official said adding that the accused were handed over to Airport Police Station.

But the detailed could not be known immediately.

Six alleged killers are Yasin from Feni, Lalon from Madaripur, Jurith Ullah from Shunamganj, Manik from Chandpur, Selim Ullah and Nur Mohammad from Cox’s Bazar.

Talking to this correspondent, Borhanuddin, an official of the Crime Investigation Department said a case is under process against the six.

Joya, Jewel’s brother’s wife, told this correspondent that Jewel was killed on December 14. “We do not know the reason behind the murder.”

Nafiul Islam said all of them went to Dubai through legal process but with the help of middlemen they went to Iran in a bid to get to Turkey or some other countries. But they were detained in Iran.

He said twenty three migrants were handed over to their relatives.
