Prime Minister’s Adviser and Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson Mahdi Amin has urged Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi to ensure that fugitives linked to the previous regime and individuals convicted by Bangladeshi courts who are currently in India do not attempt to create instability.
Trivedi paid a courtesy call on Mahdi Amin at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon on Thursday morning.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and people-to-people ties between Bangladesh and India. Indian Deputy High Commissioner Pawan Badhe was also present.
The two sides discussed the importance of consolidating democratic values and agreed on the need to take bilateral relations forward based on mutual respect, equality, fairness and justice.
They also discussed resolving existing challenges through dialogue and cooperation.
The meeting covered various aspects of Bangladesh-India relations, with particular emphasis on cooperation in education, health, sports, culture and tourism.
The two sides also discussed expanding trade, business and investment, as well as opportunities for greater cooperation in information technology, innovation, science and technology.
