Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam have expressed profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences over the deaths of 16 Bangladeshi nationals in a tragic factory fire in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The two ministers expressed their deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members of the deceased and assured them of support during this time of irreparable loss and grief, said a foreign ministry press release on Monday.
The 16 Bangladeshis lost their lives in a devastating fire that broke out at a sofa manufacturing factory in Riyadh on Sunday.
Immediately after receiving information about the incident, officials of the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh rushed to the scene, said the foreign ministry.
The embassy is working in close coordination with the relevant Saudi authorities to identify the deceased and complete necessary formalities concerning the bodies.
