US Special Envoy on South and Central Asia Sergio Gor on Thursday said there had been "lots of positive developments" in Bangladesh-US relations after holding talks with Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman.
"It was great to meet Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman during my first visit to Bangladesh and discuss working together to strengthen the US-Bangladesh relationship. Lots of positive developments," Gor wrote on X after the meeting at the State Guest House Padma.
Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir and US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen were also present at the meeting.
Gor arrived in Dhaka on Thursday on his first official visit to Bangladesh as US President Donald Trump's special envoy for South and Central Asia.
During his visit, he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and hold discussions on issues of mutual interest aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations.
