UNGA President-elect Khalilur meets European leaders in New York

During the meetings, the leaders discussed key priorities for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly

President-elect of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Dr Khalilur Rahman has held separate meetings with senior leaders from Slovakia, Georgia and North Macedonia to exchange views on the priorities of the upcoming UN General Assembly session.

Dr Rahman, who is also Bangladesh Foreign Minister met Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanár, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia, and North Macedonian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Zoran Dimitrovski in New York on Tuesday, foreign ministry said Wednesday morning.

During the meetings, the leaders discussed key priorities for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.

The president-elect reaffirmed his commitment to leading an open, inclusive and member state-driven presidency, underscoring the importance of close engagement and broad-based cooperation with all UN member states throughout the session.

The meetings formed part of Dr Rahman's ongoing consultations with representatives of UN member states ahead of the opening of the 81st session of the General Assembly.
