State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam met visiting Pakistani Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi on Saturday.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed various issues of bilateral interest and reiterated their commitment to strengthening communication and cooperation between the two countries.
Referring to the recent momentum in bilateral relations, they expressed interest in further deepening ties.
The two sides agreed that there is significant potential to expand cooperation in areas including trade and commerce, sports, culture, women’s entrepreneurship, education, science and technology, and digital innovation.
They also stressed the importance of increasing people-to-people contact and enhancing institutional cooperation.
Shama Obaed reiterated Bangladesh’s commitment to revitalizing the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) as an important platform for regional cooperation and prosperity.
Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen regional cooperation for the collective interests of the people of South Asia.
