SUZUKI Norikazu, Japanese Prime Minister’s Special Envoy and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday.
The Japanese minister, who is leading a high-level delegation, met the prime minister at his National Parliament office on Wednesday afternoon, according to a release issued by the prime minister’s office.
Later, SUZUKI Norikazu witnessed the parliamentary session, where members of parliament warmly welcomed him and his delegation by thumping their desks.
Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni announced the arrival of the Japanese minister in the house.
“We are delighted to inform the house that the Japanese Prime Minister’s Special Envoy and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister SUZUKI Norikazu has arrived in parliament,” he said.
The chief whip said the Japanese agriculture minister and his delegation are visiting the house. Bangladesh has shared a long, friendly relationship with Japan since 1971.
