Home minister to attend Global Fraud Summit in Vienna

The minister will lead a five-member Bangladesh delegation to the event

Home Affairs Minister Salahuddin Ahmed is set to attend the two-day Global Fraud Summit 2026 in Vienna on March 16–17.

The summit is being jointly organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and INTERPOL.

The minister will lead a five-member Bangladesh delegation to the event, which will be held at the Vienna International Centre.

In addition to attending the inaugural and plenary sessions, Salahuddin Ahmed will participate as a panellist in a high-level roundtable discussion titled “Global Fraud Response Mechanism.” He will also join a special high-level session on “National Commitments/Pledges on Combating Fraud.”

On the sidelines of the summit, the minister is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with John Brandolino, executive director of UNODC, and Lord Hanson, the United Kingdom’s home secretary.

According to the schedule, the minister will depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday at 4:50pm on an Ethiopian Airlines flight to attend the summit.

He is expected to return to Dhaka on March 20 at 5:35am on a flight operated by Turkish Airlines.
