The United States has congratulated Bangladesh on successfully organizing the 13th National Parliamentary Election, according to a message sent by the US Embassy on Friday morning.
In the same statement, it extended its congratulations to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Tarique Rahman on their victory.
The statement said: “Congratulations to the people of Bangladesh on a successful election and to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Tarique Rahman on your historic victory. The United States looks forward to working with you to realize shared goals of prosperity and security for both our countries. US Embassy Dhaka.”
According to the latest unofficial results, the BNP is leading with a majority.
