Bangladesh Embassy in Qatar on Monday announced that expatriate voters can collect their postal ballot envelopes from designated post offices free of charge.
The embassy said voters who receive an SMS via WhatsApp from Qatar Post will not need to pay the 15 Qatari riyals fee mentioned in the message. To collect their ballots, voters must present the SMS along with their original passport or a photocopy at the post office specified in the message.
Expatriate voters who prefer to receive their ballots at their residential address can contact Qatar Post’s hotline at 104 and request home delivery, paying the fee stated in the SMS.
The embassy also urged voters not to visit post offices to collect their postal ballots until they receive an SMS notification.
