Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has said that a new world must be built by applying the framework of new thoughts.
"No matter how much we try to drag out the old world, this effort will not work," the chief adviser said in an interview with China Media Group (CMG) during his recent visit to China.
He emphasized that the new world should be created by establishing a new thinking framework in light of the structure and theory necessary for a beautiful new world.
Regarding cooperation with China, he mentioned that China is ready to cooperate with and support Bangladesh.
Referring to the ongoing reform agenda of his interim government, Yunus said that Bangladesh requires major reforms and is receiving substantial support from the Chinese government, Chinese businesses, and the people of China.
The chief adviser said: "This support is very necessary. It is also a joy." He further added that overall, his recent visit to China had been both beautiful and successful.
Yunus recalled his visit to China nearly a decade ago, where he observed the poverty among rural women.
He said that the nature of poverty is the same everywhere in the world.
The way to combat poverty, according to him, is to recognize the creativity of people and support them institutionally.
The chief adviser emphasized that society should assist people in doing their jobs so that they can progress.
On the subject of microcredit, he noted that this money serves as a power for individuals, and it is possible to change lives by utilizing this power.
Regarding the similarities between his "Three Zero Theory" and President Xi Jinping’s new-style modernization theory, Yunus said: "The issues are the same. There are many similarities, which we are trying to express in different ways."
In response to a question about Dhaka-Beijing relations, the chief adviser mentioned that he had successful talks with President Xi.
Noting that Bangladesh requires help and support in its current situation, he added that China is interested in assisting and that President Xi will work to deliver support to Bangladesh in a timely manner.
Yunus expressed optimism about the potential progress in the economy and trade, saying: "Today, there was a preliminary discussion with everyone. To explore the opportunities that have been created in Bangladesh, Chinese investors and businessmen will come to Bangladesh, and they will observe what can be done new."
The chief adviser further said: "We have found many friends in China. We will utilize this friendship to build a new Bangladesh."
On the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-China relations, he said that the interim government of Bangladesh will strive to deepen these relations.
He emphasized that the purpose of his visit to China was to strengthen the relationship, which is why he met with the head of state and various professional leaders.
Yunus concluded by saying that China assured him of its support for Bangladesh in any situation.
Professor Du of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, who is working on a microcredit project to improve the standard of living for rural women in China, was present during the interview.
