The National Consensus Commission is determined to reach a national consensus on reforms within the stipulated timeframe, said the commission’s Vice Chairman Prof Ali Riaz.
He made the remark while European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller paid a courtesy call on him at the commission's office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban area on Tuesday, said a media release signed by MM Fazlur Rahman, senior legislative draftsman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat.
During the meeting, Ali Riaz briefed the EU ambassador on the progress of the commission's activities.
Expressing satisfaction with the commission's efforts, Ambassador Miller reaffirmed the EU’s full support for the ongoing reform initiatives.
He also assured comprehensive cooperation from the European Union in the commission’s endeavours.
