UN Human Rights Office set to launch OHCHR fact-finding report on July uprising

It highlights human rights violations and abuses

The UN Human Rights Office will launch the OHCHR fact-finding report titled "Human Rights Violations and Abuses" on Thursday, which is related to the protests of July and August 2024 in Bangladesh.

It will hold a press conference at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on the same day.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk will deliver opening remarks.

The other panellists will be Rory Mungoven, chief of the Asia-Pacific Section, Jyotsna Poudyal, human rights officer, and Ravina Shamdasani, chief spokesperson.

The news conference will be broadcast live on UN Web TV for those wishing to listen only.            

The report will be issued prior to the news conference.
