This is because apparently a criminal syndicate is promising female workers employment opportunities in various ways

Update : 31 Jan 2025, 05:03 PM

The Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has urged Bangladeshi women not to travel to Malaysia as general workers, as various syndicates are deceiving them by taking them there on tourist or other visas for employment purposes.

The High Commission emphasized that there is no agreement between Bangladesh and Malaysia on this matter. This information was provided in a notice on Friday.

The notice states that there is currently no agreement between the governments of Malaysia and Bangladesh regarding the recruitment of female workers from Bangladesh.

A criminal syndicate is promising female workers employment opportunities in various ways. They are deceiving women by bringing them to Malaysia on tourist or other visas in violation of the rules.

The notice further mentions that such activities may lead to financial or emotional harm for Bangladeshi female workers. It also warns that these actions could create a negative perception of Bangladesh in Malaysia.

Until an agreement or memorandum of understanding on female workers is signed between the governments of Malaysia and Bangladesh, the High Commission has advised not to go to Malaysia as general workers.
