Another 46 Bangladeshi citizens have been brought back from war-torn Lebanon at government expense.

They arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on a Qatar Airways flight at 9:15am on Tuesday.

The repatriation was facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that a total of 1,292 Bangladeshis have been repatriated from Lebanon on 20 flights so far.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare, along with IOM representatives, welcomed the returnees at the airport.

Ministry officials met with the returnees, discussed the severity of the ongoing conflict and inquired about their well-being.

It has been reported that one Bangladeshi citizen has been killed in a bombing during the conflict.

Due to the ongoing violence, the government has reiterated its commitment to cover the repatriation costs for all Bangladeshis wishing to return from Lebanon.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut are working tirelessly to ensure the safe return of those wishing to come back, while also securing the safety of those who choose to remain.
