'We want to see all parties resolve their disagreements peacefully,' says US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller

The United States has called for India and Bangladesh to address their differences through peaceful means.

“We want to see all parties resolve their disagreements peacefully,” US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said during a press briefing on Tuesday, in response to a query about Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri's recent visit to Bangladesh.

During his visit, Misri met top government officials, including Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain and Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin.

This visit is the first by a top Indian diplomat to Bangladesh following the ouster of Sheikh Hasina as prime minister on August 5.

When questioned about a recent violent attack on a Bangladeshi diplomatic mission in India and the increasingly aggressive rhetoric directed toward Bangladesh, Miller reiterated the US's stance.
