Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef SY Ramadan called on the Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, briefing the latter on the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the West Bank, especially the killing of innocent women and children.
Ramadan also focused on growing concerns and escalation of tensions in the Middle East, resulting in widespread instability in the region and beyond.
The conversation also touched on the challenges faced by Palestinian students who have been unable to take advantage of scholarships offered by universities in Bangladesh due to an ongoing blockade in Gaza.
The ambassador expressed deep gratitude for Bangladesh’s longstanding support for Palestine on international platforms and sought continued support in future.
Meanwhile, the adviser reiterated Bangladesh’s steadfast support for the Palestinians and their inalienable right to an independent and viable state based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to the foreign ministry.
