India keeps a “close watch” on all developments that happen in its neighbourhood and beyond, which impact its economic and security interests.

“We take appropriate measures accordingly,” official spokesperson of India's External Affairs Ministry Randhir Jaiswal said in New Delhi on Thursday.

He was replying to a question at the weekly media briefing.

The journalist asked whether India took note of Bangladesh’s joint military exercise with China and that Chinese forces are going to be visiting Bangladesh in May for some anti-terror exercises.

Another journalist asked about a protest in London in front of the Indian High Commission by some BNP and Jamaat leaders of Bangladesh as the protesters chanted anti-Indian slogans there.

In response, the spokesperson said: “I've seen some reports about it. I don't have a further update on that, but let me come back to you with more details.”
