Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in establishing an Arabic language institute in Dhaka and eight iconic mosques in Bangladesh.
Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Bangladesh Essa Youssef Essa Al Duhailan informed Minister of Religious Affairs Faridul Haque Khan of this in a meeting at the ministry on Sunday.
According to a press release sent out by the ministry, during the meeting the two discussed various aspects of relations between the two countries and how to strengthen them in the coming days.
Apart from this, Hajj registration, transport of pilgrims, the establishment of an Arabic language institute in Dhaka and the construction of eight iconic mosques in Bangladesh were discussed.
The ambassador also congratulated Faridul Haque Khan on taking charge of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
