The US Embassy and the Australian High Commission have instructed the citizens of their respective countries to be cautious about the programs of political parties ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Bangladesh.
The US Embassy and the Australian High Commission issued the warnings on Tuesday updating the previous travel warning.
The US Embassy warned its citizens to be careful as Bangladesh's parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in or before January 2024.
Meanwhile, various political parties have started rallies and election-oriented activities. Notably, the ruling Awami League and the opposition BNP are set to hold rallies in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Political rallies and other activities are likely to increase as the election approaches.
US citizens should remember that peaceful events can turn into conflict or violence at any time. In such a situation, the embassy advises US citizens to avoid large gatherings and protests and move with caution.
