Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said there are lots of complaints about elections in the United States, so it should not poke its nose into polls in Bangladesh.
The minister was responding to a query from reporters on the recent pressure from Washington for holding free and fair elections, after casting his vote in the Sylhet City Corporation election on Wednesday morning.
Expressing his satisfaction with the voting environment, he hoped that the Awami League candidate would emerge victorious in the SCC election.
Momen also complained that there was electoral fraud when the BNP was in power. That opportunity was no longer available due to the use of electronic voting machines, he added.
