Bangladeshi woman dies of dengue in Kolkata

The hospital also informed that she suffered sepsis and multi-organ failure due to dengue fever

A Bangladeshi woman died of dengue fever in Kolkata, India on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Shipra Das, 58. 

She went to Kolkata two months ago for tumor treatment and was undergoing treatment at Amri Hospital in Dhakuria, reports Bangla Tribune.

Shipra breathed her last in the hospital at around 9:15am. The hospital also said that she suffered sepsis and multi-organ failure due to dengue fever.

Shipra reportedly traveled to Kolkata for cancer treatment, according to one of her relatives, Dip Das.

According to the hospital, she was receiving chemotherapy. 

On October 27, she was discharged from the hospital and was residing in a relative's home in Sajir Hat, North 24 Parganas since then. 

Later, she began to have a high fever on Sunday and was taken back to the hospital in that state. On Monday, she was diagnosed with dengue.
