Bangladesh on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Thailand to import up to one million metric tons of rice each year until 2026 under government-to-government (G2G) agreement.
Bangladesh Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder and Thai Commerce Minister Urin Laksana Wist signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides through a virtual platform.
The rice price will be fixed after considering the international market price in negotiations between the two countries every year.
Both countries can extend the term of the MoU, if necessary.
