Zulfiqur Rahman new BD envoy to Brazil

The government has appointed Md Zulfiqur Rahman as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Brazil. The appointment has been made three months after Bangladesh Ambassador to Brazil and former foreign secretary Mohamed Mijarul Quayes passed away. Zulfiqur Rahman, a career diplomat of 9th BCS (Foreign Affairs), is currently serving as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Korea. In his diplomatic career, he served as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Turkey, Deputy High Commissioner in India, Minister at Bangladesh Permanent Mission to United Nations in New York, USA, said the Foreign Ministry on Monday. He also served in Bangladesh Missions in Manama, Los Angeles in different capacities. He joined Foreign Service in 1991.
