Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has termed the recent reports on Bangladesh-India-China relations in various media as rubbish.
He complained that various media outlets were spreading nonsense. However, it will not affect the relationship with the other countries, said the foreign minister.
"We are a peace-loving country ane we are everyone’s friend, no one’s enemy,” he added.
The minister said: “Bangladesh have a close relationship with India historically. A call from someone or someone doing something is not going to affect the bilateral relationship.
Stating that there has been no change in the position of Bangladesh, he added: "The media is deliberately spreading nonsense, which can be called rubbish."
On the recent dispute over the Sino-Indian border, the minister said few Indians died in a battle and the Indian prime minister has said no one occupied even an inch of land.
"The Indian government did not send us any verbal notes that any of their people have died. As a result, naturally, we did not make any statement,” he added.
Abdul Momen also said: "Neither India nor China has asked us for support on any issue. None of them has said anything to us and we do not know about the matter even."
“When our media questioned, we said we want a peaceful and stable situation. We want better solutions through negotiations. We never meddle into anyone's internal affairs. This is our position in all matters. "
