Modi to give keynote speech at Bangabandhu’s centenary program

At least 30 global leaders have been invited to various programs centering Bangabandhu’s hundredth anniversary

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver the keynote speech at the inaugural event of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary on Mar 17, 2020 in Dhaka.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali confirmed Modi's participation, reports The Hindu.

He said: “Narendra Modi has been invited, and he has confirmed his participation.”

"Modi is also going to deliver the keynote speech at the program," Muazzem added.

He added that at least 30 global leaders have been invited to various programs centering Bangabandhu’s hundredth anniversary, and about a dozen have already confirmed their participation.

The event will launch year-long programs between 2020 and 2021, formally described as “Mujib year” celebrations.

An array of Indian leaders, along with international dignitaries, will also attend the event and the year-long celebrations, he concluded.
