Five New York City State Senators are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Sunday on a week-long visit to observe the massive development taking place in Bangladesh.
Led by Senator Luis Sepulveda, the delegation, comprising five state senators, and three staff members, will meet high level dignitaries, and travel to Sylhet and Cox’s Bazar, a foreign affairs press release said on Saturday, , reports BSS.
The five senators provide strong support and cooperation to the Bangladeshi diasporas staying in the American state of New York.
The delegation arrives Sunday morning, and will leave Bangladesh on Saturday.
Senator Luis met Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen when he was on a visit to the USA and said he has been working for the Bangladesh community in New York for a long time, and that he would travel to Bangladesh very soon.
The Foreign Ministry has chalked out some programs for the eight-member delegation and at their request, is only providing local hospitality.
