Indian State Minister for External Affairs Gen (retd) Vijay Kumar Singh has reassured their readiness to extend all possible cooperation and support to Bangladesh for implementation of the terms of the agreement on Rohingya repatriation signed with Myanmar.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali held a meeting with Singh on the sidelines of the 25th Asean Regional Forum in Singapore yesterday, and discussed the latest situation on the repatriation of the Rohingya refugees.
Ali also informed Singh that he would be visiting Myanmar on August 9 to see the preparation made so far regarding accommodation facilities, particularly installation of pre-fabricated houses for repatriation of Rohingya.
The Indian state minister communicated their interest in the Solar Alliance and renewable energy cooperation with Bangladesh, said a Foreign Ministry statement issued in Dhaka.
Singh also expressed his commitment to accelerate the Bimstec process and sought Bangladesh's support in this regard.
He offered assistance to Bangladesh regarding the establishment of a Holocaust museum in memory of the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War.

Foreign Minister Ali also met Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland on the sidelines of forum.
Freeland praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her extraordinary approach in giving shelter to more than one million Rohingyas in Bangladesh.
She also reiterated Canada's possible help for mitigating the sufferings of the forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals.
Ali thanked Canada for its overwhelming support for the Rohingyas.
The Canadian minister thanked Hasina and Ali both for the warm hospitality extended to her during her recent visit to Bangladesh.
Ali conveyed the invitation of the prime minister to her Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau to visit Bangladesh.
Singapore is hosting the 25th Asean Regional Forum's Foreign Ministers Meeting that will end on Saturday.
The Bangladesh foreign minister will deliver a speech at the forum’s retreat session on Saturday.
