Update : 07 May 2018, 02:15 AM
The 45th Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of  Islamic Countries concluded on Sunday, adopting a resolution to form an “Ad hoc Ministerial Committee on Accountability” to mobilize international support to ensure justice for atrocities on Rohingyas. The two-day event began at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Saturday. As per the resolution, the committee will work in collaboration with international actors including the UN. The resolution was adopted following a proposal placed by Gambia at a special session about “Humanitarian challenges of the OIC countries including those relating to the Rohingyas”. The proposed 10-member committee will work to ensure accountability and justice for gross violations of international human rights and humanitarian laws and principles in Rakhine state of Myanmar. Around 600 delegates took part in the conference from 58 countries, including 53 OIC member states, three observer states, and two guest states.
