Update : 06 Feb 2017, 07:27 PM
President Abdul Hamid has asked newly appointed Bangladesh ambassador to Lisbon for exploring business potentials in Portugal. He also asked him to put in his efforts to draw Portuguese investments for the country. The president's suggestion came as newly appointed envoy Md Ruhul Alam Siddique made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban, said president's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin, reports BSS. During the meeting, President Hamid also advised the Bangladesh envoy to take pragmatic initiatives to arrange exchange visits for Bangladeshi and Portugal investors and businessmen to explore the potential areas in both the countries. The president also asked the designated envoy to protect and look after the wellbeing of Bangladeshi workers and migrants in Portugal, saying that around 15,000 Bangladeshis are currently living or working in Portugal. Concerned secretaries to the President Office were present during the meeting.
