Turkish PM pays respect to Bangabandhu, martyrs

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has visited the National Mausoleum and paid respect to the martyrs placing wreaths. The Turkish prime minister also signed visitors' book and planted a sapling there on Tuesday. Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain and Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq were present. The Turkish prime minister also visited Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the morning. After placing wreaths and paying respect to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he signed visitors' book there. He arrived in on Monday on a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina to discuss the Rohingya and other issues. Binali Yildirim is leading a 21-member delegation that includes his daughter Busra Koylubay, Chief Foreign Policy Adviser Kerim Uras, Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag and Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Yildiz. The official talks, including the signing of a number of deals/MoUs, between the two countries will be held at the Prime Minister's Office today. After his meeting with Sheikh Hasina, he will meet President Abdul Hamid in the evening. Sheikh Hasina will host banquet, preceded by cultural programme, in honour of her Turkish counterpart at the Ball Room of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel at 8pm.
