Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invited German Chancellor Angela Merkel to visit Bangladesh, according to a statement released from the Foreign Ministry.
She gave the invitation while congratulating Merkel for her fourth term win in the German federal election 2017.
The statement says both countries want to work more diligently on bilateral economic cooperation, migration, environmental issues, antiterrorism and other challenges.

In the election, held on Sunday, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party won even after receiving the lowest numbers of votes in the last 70 years.
