East West University (EWU) successfully concluded the Certificate Course on Teaching for Active Learning (TAL: Batch 15) with a closing and certificate-giving ceremony held at the SM Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery, EWU Campus, Aftabnagar, Dhaka on Sunday
The program, an initiative of the Foundation for Learning, Teaching and Research (FLTR), aimed to enhance pedagogical skills and promote active learning strategies among university educators.
The ceremony, organized and coordinated by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of East West University, celebrated the achievements of 25 participants from eight prestigious universities in Bangladesh.
The event was graced by the presence of Professor Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson, Board of Trustees of EWU, as the chief guest.
In his address, he emphasized the importance of continuous professional development of the educators and commended the participants for their commitment to enhancing the quality of education.
Professor Dr Shams Rahman, vice-chancellor of East West University, was the guest of honor.
Dr Shams Rahman shared his experience with the audience about innovative teaching and learning practices.
The program was chaired by Professor Dr Yousuf M Humayun, chairperson of FLTR and vice-chancellor of South East University.
Professor Dr Sufia Islam, director of IQAC, East West University, and Professor Dr Md Golam Samdani Fakir, former vice chancellor of Green University, also spoke on the occasion.
During the ceremony, the 25 participants received their certificates from the distinguished guests, acknowledging their successful completion of the intensive training program.
The ceremony was also attended by Professor Dr M Ashik Mosaddik, pro-vc, Air Cadre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, treasurer, Prof Dr Anup Chowdhury, dean, faculty of Business and Economics, Prof Dr Ahmed Wasif Reza, dean, faculty of Sciences and Engineering, EWU, and Dr Basanta Kumar Barmon, additional director, Institutional Quality (IQAC), among others.
