Protibha, a social enterprise dedicated to preserving traditional art forms, has worked with rickshaw artists in Bangladesh since 2016.
In recognition of the importance of rickshaw art as a unique expression of Bangladeshi culture, in 2023, Unesco has designated it as the intangible cultural heritage of the country.

Protibha emphasizes the importance of safeguarding cultural treasures such as rickshaw art to uphold community identity and heritage. Through workshops and training initiatives involving younger individuals, we can secure the legacy of these art forms and foster appreciation for them in the future.
Moreover, such endeavours have the potential to spark creativity and innovation among participants in their own artistic endeavours.

To support rickshaw artists and ensure the conservation of this endangered art form, Protibha has collaborated with them to transfer their artwork onto various everyday objects.
To transmit this valuable skill to future generations, Protibha recently started rickshaw art workshops on Saturday, led by seasoned artist Md Simon and Md Gogon, boasting more than 15 years of experience in rickshaw art. The workshops provided sessions available in two time slots. In total, 23 participants received rickshaw art training and were awarded with certificates.

Besides, they can now host private rickshaw art sessions for your guests and visitors curated by Protibha.
Through these initiatives, Protibha aims to preserve rickshaw art, strengthen community bonds, and foster a shared sense of cultural pride among participants.
