BNP-backed candidate and chief coordinator of the Ganasanghati Andolan, Jonayed Saki, has been unofficially declared the winner of the Brahmanbaria-6 constituency (Bancharampur), defeating Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Mohsin.
Saki secured 94,231 votes, more than double the 37,965 votes received by his closest rival. By midnight, results from all 98 polling centers were reported. Sakir contested under the “Mathal” symbol, while Mohsin ran under the “Dari Palla” symbol
Returning Officer Sharmin Akter said the voter turnout in the constituency was 52.24%.
