Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz has congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her reelection as the prime minister for the record fifth time and fourth consecutive term.
In a letter to Bangladesh premier, the chancellor said: "Allow me to congratulate you on taking office once again as prime minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh".
She continued: "I wish you much strength and every success for the tasks that lie ahead of you".
