Festive mood in Kotalipara around PM Hasina's visit

The Kotalipara upazila in Gopalganj is immersed in a festive atmosphere as Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to visit her constituency on Sunday.

Banners and festoons adorn the Sadar upazila and its surroundings, creating a colourful spectacle with flags in various hues.

Enthusiasm is high among leaders, activists, and the general public, setting the stage for a festive mood in Kotalipara upazila.

Residents eagerly await the arrival of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who will participate in a greeting and exchange meeting at Kotalipara Upazila Parishad on Sunday.

The prime minister, elected eight times by the people of Kotalipara-Tungipara, holds a special place in their hearts, and the anticipation of seeing and hearing her up close adds to the festive spirit.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will travel by road in the afternoon from her residence in Tungipara to her constituency in Kotalipara, where she will address the exchange meeting organized by Awami League.

Kotalipara upazila Awami League has completed all preparations for the event, constructing a stage and a large pandal. Security has been strengthened in the surrounding areas, including the meeting venue, by law enforcement forces.

Aynal Hossain Sheikh, general secretary of Kotalipara upazila Awami League, mentioned that arrangements have been made for 2,000 leaders and activists to attend the exchange meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He highlighted the prime minister's election for the eighth time from Gopalganj-3 (Kotalipara-Tungipara) and expressed gratitude for her decision to visit Kotalipara.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, accompanied by members of her newly formed cabinet, started the journey for a two-day visit to Gopalganj by road at 9am on Saturday, said the Prime Minister's press wing.

This trip marks her first visit to Gopalganj since forming the government for the fifth term and fourth in a row.
