Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has said ballot papers will be sent to most of the polling centres in Bangladesh on Sunday morning.
He was speaking at a press conference attended by local and foreign journalists as well as observers organized by Meet the Press.
The CEC said: “Bangladesh's people want peaceful voting. Elections are not always peaceful.
“Followers of candidates can sometimes obstruct peaceful voting overcome by emotion. We urge all candidates to cooperate with polling officials.”
“Our election will be monitored by local and foreign observers. I hope all of you (journalists and observers) will go to different polling stations and observe,” he added.
