Those who are true supporters of the Awami League (AL) cannot but support the Boat symbol, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, the party candidate for Jessore-3 constituency has said.
He said that those who were quiet for the past few days have now started to join the force of AL and seek votes for Boat.
The member of parliament was addressing a street rally at Baulia Government Primary School ground under Fatepur Union Parishad on Saturday.
Kazi Nabil Ahmed said that while the party chief Sheikh Hasina is carrying out development activities in the country, the BNP-Jamaat is committing sabotage. They are uprooting train lines, burning people alive, he added.
During 2001-2006, they (BNP) carried out a series of bomb attacks, and grenade attacks and killed political party leaders, the MP added, saying this was their politics.
Regarding the development activities of the current government, he said, what Sheikh Hasina has done in the country cannot be expressed through words. She has constructed a university, medical college and Sheikh Hasina Software IT Park in Jessore. Among the mega projects across the country, she has built the Padma Bridge keeping in mind the demands of the people of Jessore. As a result, this Jessore-Khulna region is going to be the third economic corridor after Dhaka and Chittagong in the future, he added.
Addressing party leaders and workers, he said, “Let's all unite, forget all petty differences and work together. Only six days are left. We all will go door to door and sensitize the voters in our favor. The elections on January 7 will be held in a free and fair and festive atmosphere. All will participate in this election.”
The MP said that the trust of the common people rests on Sheikh Hasina. Boat will win the January 7 election. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will once again be the PM of the country.
Commenting on being able to serve the people of Jessore, Kazi Nabil also said: "I have worked with you for the last 10 years. I carried your message to parliament. I have done a lot of work in this area. To continue this progress, everyone must bring Boat to power.”
He urged everyone to work together to elect Sheikh Hasina as the PM of Bangladesh for the fifth time.
District AL president Shahidul Islam Milon spoke at the rally as the chief guest.
He said those who disobey the orders of the people's leader Sheikh Hasina are not from AL. “We all have to obey the orders given by the leader.”
He said that Sheikh Hasina never said about voting outside the Boat in her speech. Everywhere she is seeking votes in Boats. After the polls, these independent candidates will also complain that they were not allowed to go to the polling centres, they were not allowed to vote, the AL leader said.
Hinting at party leaders who were not taking part in the party’s campaigning in the past few days, he said that by January 5 everyone will work for the AL again.
The election rally was presided over by Sheikh Sohrab Hossain, chairman of Fatepur Union Parishad.
Former member of parliament (reserved seat) Aleya Afroz, district AL Joint Secretary Mir Zahirul Islam, Organizing Secretary SM Afzal Hossain, Jessore Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Mostafa Farid Ahmed Chowdhury, among others, were present at the rally.
